MEMORIAL TO DAVE HILTON

November 17, 1960 - May 24th, 2003

It is with deep regret that Southern Maine Fire Notification Association announces the passing of Dave Hilton, SM92. Dave was the founding member and former President of SMFNA. All those who knew Dave will know that he will be sadly missed. Dave was an important member of the fire community: a member of the York Fire Department; a volunteer in the Mt. Agamenticus fire tower; a former dispatcher for the Portsmouth Public Safety Communications; author of "From York to the Allagash"; just to name a few of the occupations to which Dave had truly dedicated his life. Also, of course, Dave was a loving husband and father. One wonders how a man could be so many things, but those who knew Dave know he was that and more. He personally trained me in the Mt Aggie fire tower, and it was at his urging that I ran for Secretary of SMFNA. I will miss him greatly and all of us at SMFNA are saddened by the thought of not hearing his announcements over the radio.
Deepest condolences go out to his wife, Diane, and to his family.
